What is AMR?
AMR (Advanced Machine Reading) is a predictive-maintenance sensor puck from Turin, Italy. It attaches to an industrial machine with a magnet, listens to vibration, sound and surface temperature, and tells the maintenance team what to repair before the machine stops.
AMR at a glance
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Name | AMR Sensor, short for Advanced Machine Reading |
| Based in | Turin, Italy |
| What it is | A magnetic sensor puck plus a web platform for maintenance teams |
| What it measures | Vibration, sound and surface temperature |
| How it mounts | With a magnet. No screws, no wiring, no stopped line |
| What you receive | Plain-language alerts, repair steps, one-click PDF work orders and an estimate of the money saved |
| Best suited to | Motors, pumps, gearboxes, fans, compressors and machining spindles with a steel surface |
| Not suited to | Sudden faults with no early signs, explosive atmospheres, and non-magnetic housings without an adapter |
| Status | Prototype stage, with pilot places open |
| Not to be confused with | Autonomous mobile robots, which also use the abbreviation AMR |

Common questions
How does AMR work?
You attach the puck to a machine. For a few days it learns what normal looks like for that machine. Then it warns your team when vibration, sound or heat drifts away from normal, with the likely cause and the repair steps.
Who is AMR for?
Plant and maintenance managers in factories that cannot afford surprise stops, such as machine shops, pump stations and heavy equipment sites.
Does AMR replace safety systems?
No. It supports maintenance decisions. It is not a certified safety device and it is not for explosive atmospheres.
How much can predictive maintenance save?
Published research reports 30–50% less machine downtime on average (McKinsey) and up to 70–75% fewer breakdowns in the best cases (US Department of Energy). Your own result depends on your machines, so AMR measures it on your plant during the trial.
How do I try it?
Take the free 60-day trial. AMR places a puck on the machine that worries you most and, after 60 days, reports in euros what it found and what an avoided stop is worth.

We put a puck on the machine that worries you most. After 60 days you get a report, in euros, of what it found and what an avoided stop is worth to you, so the savings are measured on your own plant.
